Diamond’s
2013 colt, Atwood Earl of Essex, by Roberto Cavalli, is perhaps the most elegant horse we’ve bred. Essex also has remarkable athletic ability. Roberto’s full brother, Balenciaga is siring some very nice foals for Kinzu Morgans. Crossing Diamond to Balenciaga enabled us to double the blood of Cedar Creek Harlequin and Schiaparelli, just as we did when we bred Essex. We were hoping for lightning to strike twice and give us a foal with the beauty and talent that we got when we crossed Roberto to Diamond.
On April 24th, Diamond foaled an exceptionally big and long legged filly, with a long neck, set perfectly on her shoulders and with an unbelievable hinge at the poll. Skye has some chrome to make her stand out, but we think her enormous eye and presence alone would ensure that. This filly is a horseman’s horse, and was bred to be a standout in the show ring. Her pedigree, filled with World Champions, assures her value as a broodmare when her show days are behind her. You will not find a better bred young prospect than Skye.
